2012 and Beyond: Divine Chaos

Visions, prophetic dreams, and intuition have been around since the beginning of time. The Bible is filled with reports of these phenomena, and the experiences that God’s prophets wrote about are still so relevant today. For the record: the Bible’s wisdom stands perfect.

I am not a prophet nor have I ever claimed to be. I do believe that some people are more sensitive to dreams and visions—and that everyone possesses some intuitive abilities. We all pray and talk to God, and since He doesn’t have a cell phone, using our intuitive ability is the only way He can communicate to us–particularly if we want answers!

My great-grandfather worked in the coal mines in Virginia. One morning he told his family of a vision he had of not returning from work. He said goodbye to his family—and was killed in the mine that very day. Could he have paid attention to his own vision and saved his life? I suppose we will never know.

As we enter 2012, paying attention to visions and intuition has never been more important. Many people find themselves in a heightened state of anxiety or eager expectation for many reasons, not the least of which is the end of the Mayan calendar. Many people believe that we will see a catastrophic event in 2012, if not total apocalypse, and some believe 2012 will usher in a transcendent era of general enlightenment. I have been talking about this for many years, ever since I first wrote about this on my website.

In view of a recurring dream that I started having almost a decade ago, I feel that 2012 will bring significant change, but I also believe the preceding years have been just as important. The dream I had was of a great tidal wave that swept over this country and then over the world. In my dream, this tidal wave would hit in early 2008 and would bring five years of grief to the world before starting to recede in 2009. It would then continue to pull back until the end of 2012. In its wake there would be drastic changes for major banks, small companies, Wall Street, and record breaking poverty, leaving few people untouched. I believed this metaphysical wave would wreak havoc on world markets and topple governments around the globe.

In my dream, I also saw that in the last two years of this five-year period, from 2008 through 2012, there would also be major earth changes. There would be more earthquakes, floods, monster storms, and more chaotic weather in general. I envisioned millions of people without electricity. I have been trying to prepare my clients for the preventative steps they should take.

My advice to my clients since 2008 has been to stay in the shallow end of the pool as far as money is concerned. I have also stressed paying off any debts and avoiding risky behavior. I believe that anyone who winds up in 2013 with what they had at the beginning of 2008 is indeed fortunate.

To be clear, however, I am not a pessimist nor am I predicting doomsday. 2012 will not be The End! People have predicted The End since the beginning of time—and yet we are still here! I feel there is no need to panic—but good common sense should be used with regard to weather and finances.

All wisdom starts with the metaphysical meaning of everything. The tidal wave from my dream, which is really vibrational, has stirred up many people and the revelations we see and will continue to see are caused by the intensity of the vibrational wave. Each time I dream this dream, I am reminded of the collective loss that the United States and other modern societies have suffered as a consequence of a single-minded devotion to material acquisitions in recent decades. I believe that those who reject unbridled materialism and self-indulgence, in favor of a restored relationship with God and their fellow human beings and nature, will have better opportunities to enjoy greater spiritual freedom.

I will say this a thousand times: It is okay to have money, to make yourself look as attractive as you can, and to live the best lifestyle for you and your family, but if these goals become your identity then you have lost the spiritual battle. Until the wave, most people may have forgotten what is really important in life. We can all agree, in theory, that it is not things that are important—but maybe now as more and more has been taken away we will all see that we must reconnect with what is important. Those who do not get swept away by the ego tide will awaken, metaphorically, with even more spiritual freedom; those who choose to hang on to the old ways will certainly end up with less. Again, I do believe that having material wealth is fine—but it cannot become your identity or you will miss the lessons the wave is trying to teach.

One thing is for sure: there are fewer Joneses to keep up with and being fashionably poorer is not such a bad thing! We should also be reminded that life and death, good and bad, joy and suffering are like a wheel and will always follow each other; acceptance of these truths is the beginning of inner peace. I think it is important to keep up with what is going on in the world, but to not become obsessed. The world will always be the world, but now we have a chance to make our worlds a little smaller and to reconnect with family and community. We also have an opportunity to find peace where it truly is—in the simple things.
