ONE OF THE FIRST REASONS FOR GETTING RID
of mosquitoes is to help protect yourself from exposure to the dangerous West Nile
virus. This is a serious health concern, and it’s better to be pro-active than re-active! Most people don’t realize that their own backyard
is often a breeding ground for mosquitoes through “container breeding” where receptacles naturally collect water, providing an excellent situation for mosquitoes to lay eggs and rapidly multiply! Some examples are dishes under plant pots, garbage can lids, buckets, bird
baths, and canvas covers on boats or trailers.
Dayton’s Mosquito Control Management Program kills existing mosquitoes and prevents many of the mosquito eggs from becoming
biting adults. Areas treated include mosquito resting areas, landscaping, vegetation, trees, and shrubs as well as breeding sites such as standing water, pool areas, and waterscapes. Treatment is recommended monthly from May through October.
