matt jenKinS has been volunteering
as a rescue diver with KveRS since
he was 15 years old. He has made
lifelong friends and also met his wife
through the organization. volunteers
are completely unpaid and stay on call
day and night to help Knoxvillians
in trouble. they also are typically
responsible for purchasing their own
equipment, which for specialized teams
such as water rescue can cost upwards
of $1,000.
