Oysterfest 2017
On the evening of May 6th, after days of rain and unseasonably chilly weather, the sun broke over Concord Marina—just in time for the 21st annual Oysterfest, held to benefit Childhelp of East Tennessee. Cincinnati’s SunBurners brought the steel drums and congas to provide a musical backdrop for this year's Jimmy Buffet theme: “Shucking Away Again in Oysterville.” The event lived up to its name—guests were treated to grilled oysters, fried oysters, steamed oysters, raw oysters, and all manner of southern seafood’s culinary accoutrement, including shrimp and grits, fried okra, and steamed mussels.
