Cutting-Edge Cabinet Design
From bustling weekday breakfasts to the largest of holiday meals, life is lived in the kitchen, the most versatile and well-used room in the house. During every waking hour, you will find family members in the kitchen, leaning their elbows on its countertops and reaching for the assorted cookware, crockery, and household items stored in its cabinets. Well-designed cabinetry can make a kitchen work at its best, and Dixie Kitchen is best at making cabinetry work well.
At their extensive showroom and custom workshop on North Broadway, the folks at Dixie Kitchen are ready to employ their over fifty years in the business toward designing kitchens and bathrooms to meet any need at any budget.
Their extensive experience and knowledgable staff are what cause so many Knoxville homeowners to rely on Dixie to create their dream kitchen and make certain that it is done right. “Everything in your kitchen has to fit perfectly,” owner Dick Coffey says. “And we have an expert staff that ensures that every job is done to the customers satisfaction.”
Dick’s son Clark Coffey, who has been with the company for five years, notes that the showroom features all price ranges in full display, allowing the customer to see just how any particular cabinetry line might look in its natural environment. “We’ve got a display and vignette for everything,” he says.
The key to Dixie Kitchen’s success and recognition by Cityview readers, Clark notes, is their service. “We’re customer-service oriented,” he says. “We’re always going to make sure the customer is happy 100% of the time. If there’s some kind of issue such as a door or drawer that need to be adjusted, we’ll go out and address it in a timely fashion. We have a service person on the road every day who takes care of minor adjustments. We don’t stop until the customer is 100% satisfied. I think that’s where we set ourselves apart.”
The reputation for quality workmanship and service has gotten around, so much so that Dixie has earned some long-term repeat customers. “Knoxville is a small town,” says Clark. “If you do good quality work, people talk and word gets around. We get a ton of business off of referrals. And the funny part is, we’ve been in business for so long that we’re getting jobs remodeling kitchens we designed 20 years ago. We’re getting repeat customers that are updating kitchens.”
Dixie Kitchen comes complete with a shop that can deal with anything from sizing problems to custom modifications. They don’t have to reorder cabinets because of a small problem. “If there’s a problem with a cabinet, we can go pick it up and we’ve got the ability to cut and resize the same day,” says Clark. “We’re not holding the project up. We can also do some modifications to make some of our medium-priced cabinets look custom. We can add legs and do different things to give them a unique look.”
Some of the most recent work that Dixie Kitchen has done is right around the corner from their prominent building on Broadway. The recent remodel of Knoxville High into a Senior Living facility features their cabinet design, as does the renovation of the old Keener Lighting building. From long established neighborhoods to the latest in downtown design, Dixie Kitchen is on the edge of cabinet design.
