Before hiring an attorney, it is impor- tant to schedule a consultation to ensure that he or she is a good fit for you. Don’t be afraid to ask for an explanation of
the attorney’s experience in a certain area prior to discussing your own case, and always be clear about the potential charges involved in a case and be certain that you have the ability to pay.
And now the laws are many, and justice is sought every day. Fortunately, East Tennessee has a wealth of deter- mined attorneys to assist in our journey to a just and fair world.
Each year, Cityview calls upon mem- bers of the Knoxville Bar Association
to determine which attorneys in East Tennessee are the best in their respective fields. The one criterion we most want the participating attorneys to consider when casting their ballots is whom they would recommend to friends and family if a par-
ticular matter fell outside of their practice specialties. This year, we asked local attor- neys to cast votes in 64 categories.
Tennessee does not allow attorneys to advertise that they specialize in cer- tain areas of the law, but as a consumer, choosing an attorney with experience in the correct area is essential. To that end, we have compiled this listing to assist you should you ever need legal counsel in East Tennessee.
