Practice Chemistry that Results in Quality Care
Carley Fowler, M.D. and Daniel Fowler, M.D. bring new meaning to the notion of a professional collaboration. Yes, they’re both physicians, they’re both partners in a practice, and they’re both in fields of medicine that are very closely aligned. But their collaborative relationship extends far beyond medicine and business; that’s because they’re happily married with three young boys at home.
In practice together since 2017, their working relationship began several years beforehand, when each of them was working in different practices. Among the many aspects of their lives that they share, they also shared a desire to offer patients a different kind of treatment experience and that working together in a practice of their own would make that desire a reality. Says Dr. Daniel: “We both felt that we wanted to give each of our patients a more individualized treatment, one where they would feel more valued and cared for, not just a number.”

And when it comes to knowledge, the Fowlers certainly have much to share. Dr. Carley is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia Honors College. Later, while studying at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine she was elected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her residency in dermatology at Vanderbilt University, where she was selected Chief Resident and was awarded the Lloyd King Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Carley is currently the President of the East Tennessee Dermatology Society and serves on the board of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine. Dr. Daniel is equally credentialed. A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Daniel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a degree in chemistry and mathematics. He continued his education at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine where he, too, was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Daniel completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Missouri, where he also held the position of Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery.
Needless to say, their practice areas, in addition to their experience and practice goals, could not be more closely aligned. Dr. Carley’s clinical interests focus largely on skin cancer prevention, detection, and surgery; cosmetic dermatology including Botox, Dysport, chemical peels, and filler; and medical dermatology, including psoriasis, acne, warts, eczema, and other related conditions. Dr. Daniel’s specialty is the ideal complement to Dr. Carley’s. Dr. Daniel specializes in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, as well as hand surgery and the treatment and reconstruction of skin cancers. He has an eye for aesthetics, and with over a decade of experience, has earned a reputation as an exceptionally skillful plastic surgeon.
“Going into practice together not only offered us the opportunity to create a more personalized atmosphere for our patients,” says Dr. Carley, “but it also gave us the opportunity to collaborate more closely in terms of the care we offer. We now use each other’s knowledge, background, and education to treat our patients from multiple different perspectives, bouncing ideas off each other in the office, and working together to make an individual plan for each patient. Ultimately, our goal is very simple; to help our patient become their best selves.”
