“People think you can just buy a
soft serve machine and run it,” says

Darrell Dalton, owner of the Original
Freezo. “But it doesn’t work that

way.” After a career in refrigeration
repair, which included servicing the

equipment at the Freezo, Dalton
purchased the restaurant almost

innovation: a drive-thru window in

on the front of the tiny building in
Happy Holler. Lunch goers can eat in

their cars or sit at one of the brightly
painted picnic tables behind the

parking lot. For such a small space,
the Freezo has a surprisingly exten -

milkshakes and freezes to hotdogs
and hamburgers to sandwiches,

pintos and cornbread, and barbe-
cue. And of course, the soft serve is

always world class.
