MAKE-A-WISH GRANDSTAND GALA

Extravagant hats and pastel neckties filled the Knoxville Convention Center on the evening of May 2 as Make-A-Wish East Tennessee hosted
its Kentucky Derby–themed Grandstand Gala. Guests enjoyed dinner, a hat contest, and an auction, as well as entertainment by comedian Leanne Morgan and music by local jazz band Swingbooty and 2012 Knoxville Voice winner Piper Montana Smith. The gala, Make-A-Wish’s largest fundraiser, benefited the organization as it continues to makes dreams come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. —C.C.
