Jim Haslam’s inluence on the University of Tennessee hit newsstands with the October 

2003 issue. In March 2004, the Top Doctors issue featured an interview with then-United 
States Senate Majority Leader (and heart and lung transplant surgeon) Bill Frist on the 

current medical and political climate. The July 2004 cover story featured an interview 

with Knox County Major Mike Ragsdale, who had just passed the mid-point of his term.
