Don’t bother making a trip to the bank — or the mailbox — today. It’s Presidents’ Day, and federal, state and county office are closed today. That includes Knox County schools, libraries and courts. Curiously, though, City of Knoxville offices are open. The Downtown Knoxville Alliance will have a board meeting today at 10 am on Zoom.
Presidents’ Day officially honors past presidents of the United States, particularly George Washington, whose birthday was Feb. 22, and Abraham Lincoln, who also had a mid-February birthday.
