Summer is almost here in East TN, and if you’ve put off planning activities for your kids, don’t worry! There is still time to get your little ones enrolled. Many summer camps in the area still have registration open and offer a wide range of programs and activities to keep your kids’ brains and bodies occupied this season. Whether you’re looking for more outdoorsy activities, something a little more creative, or even a STEM focus – there’s a camp for you.
Check out these last minute registration options:
1. Tate’s Day Camp
Looking for that quintessential camp experience? Tate’s offers a variety of summer camp activities like swimming, arts and crafts, fishing, group activities, and more. Each week follows a different theme that is sure to keep the summer interesting!
Registration is available online with more detailed instructions and policies. Tuition must be paid three weeks prior to the child’s start date.
2. Zoo Knoxville’s Wildly Fun Zoo Camp
If your child loves the zoo, then this one’s for you. Zoo Knoxville provides multiple weeks of different camp themes for various ages that will give animal lovers the experience of a lifetime.
Registration is online, as well as more information about specific weeks. Registration closes each Wednesday before a camp starts. If a camp is starting on Wednesday, registration will close that Sunday prior.
3. Ijams Nature Center
Ijams is perfect for those wanting adventures in the great outdoors. Ijams offers camps based on age groups, with something for everyone 3-21+. Preschool camps have weekly themes and the adventure for older ages continues to grow as they do. Campers are welcome to attend multiple weeks, but there is a four-week per child limit.

4. Imagination Station at Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge
With 51 years of summer camp excellence under their belt, there must be something special about Imagination Station. The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge provides full and half days for campers with themes this year of art, culture, cooking, gardening, and more.
Registration is available online and full payment is due at the time of registration.
5. Kids U at the University of Tennessee
These day camps provide children with the opportunity to explore fields of interest while learning important life skills. Fields include arts, science, anthropology, photography, technology, STEM, and more. Each weekday camp is held for three hours in either the morning or afternoon.

6. Knoxville Outdoor Recreation Experience (KORE)
The Knoxville Outdoor Recreation Experience (KORE) invites your kids to a summer filled with fun, friends, and amazing experiences. This summer camp offers a variety of recreational activities as well as field trips to outdoor pools and other locations like Main Event, NASCAR Speedpark, Kentucky Splash Waterpark, and more. A minimum of 3-4 weeks is required for all attendees.
Registration can be completed online and includes discounts if completed before May 16.
7. Camp Webb
Camp Webb is entering its 64th year of summer camp programs and they want your kids to be a part of this year’s fun. Campers can choose between Adventure Camp, Sports Camp, and Specialty Camps – so there’s definitely something for you! Speciality Camps vary and include areas such as art, science, cooking, engineering, theater, chess, and more.
