They have promoted it annually since then on the third Thursday of November (that’s tomorrow). Wouldn’t it be nice if it was no longer necessary to do so?

2. The goal is obvious.

The goal is to get people to quit smoking, resulting in fewer health problems, and  less cancer and emphysema deaths from smoking and secondary smoke.

3. In 2018, nearly 14 of every 100 U.S. adults aged 18 years or older (13.7%) smoked cigarettes.

This means an estimated 34.2 million adults in the United States smoke, according to the CDC..

4. More than 16 million Americans live with a smoking-related disease.

5. The American Cancer Society encourages all smokers to give up the “butt” today. 

It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
